The Lee County Sheriff's Office operates the Lee County Detention Center and holds county booking and intake-photo records. Direct an official records question to the office that created or maintains the information.

The following routes lead to the proper official system for the kind of question being asked:
- For a person believed to be held now, use the sheriff's Current Inmates search. It covers present Lee County Detention Center custody.
- For a recent intake, check the sheriff's Recent Arrests feed. A posted-bond entry may remain after release, so the feed does not prove current confinement.
- For an older booking record or intake photograph, review the LCSO records-request policy and official form. Alabama residency proof and in-person submission to Administration are required.
- For a warrant question, follow the county's official Magistrates and Warrants guidance. The county does not publish a public warrant-search portal.
- For what happened after booking, use the Lee County Circuit Clerk or Alabama's Just One Look court system. Municipal matters may require the Auburn or Opelika municipal court.
- For a person serving an Alabama state-prison sentence, use the Alabama Department of Corrections offender search. It is not a county recent-arrest source.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the official Federal Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE detainee locator. Neither publishes a public mugshot.
Auburn and Opelika police reports have municipal custodians, while Smiths Station has no municipal police department listed. The Lee County booking guide explains how these local arrest paths connect to the county detention system. For an emergency, call 911. The sheriff's online tip form is for non-emergency investigative information and is not a records or warrant lookup.
